Grandpa's Farm is a tongue in cheek, sometimes humorous, look at rural country life. It is written about Ho Hum County and life there. This is to reinforce the "city folks" idea that it is boring out in the country and that nothing ever happens out here. Hopefully it will convince them that it really is boring out here and they will stay home and not move to the country and spoil the fun that we have without them. Sorry if you are a "city folk", but God favors some folks and others He lets live in the city.
Grandpa was born in a small town in Iowa and moved to the city when he was 13. He lived there for ten years and then moved to the country (PTL). He was a teacher who farmed evenings, weekends, and summers just like his father did. He is retired from 31 years of school work but still raises horse hay (with the help of grandkids) in a rural river valley very close to Canada. His writing draws upon the experiences of teaching, living on an orchard and a hay farm and life in a small town. This is underlaid by a foundational belief in God and His sense of humor. Why else would He have created a stupid chicken or a camel? I rest my case.
So join us in Ho Hum County where every day is usual and nothing exciting ever happens here. This is written in newsletter format according to the whim of the old geezer and names have sometimes been changed to protect the guilty. Any similarity to persons living or dead is ok. It may be you.
